Whether you want to ride, shop, watch other people ride, or just be surrounded by like-minded individuals, there is no shortage of snowmobiling events in Wisconsin. Even if you live in Milwaukee where the car is king, there is still a strong presence of snowmobile enthusiasts who are looking for someone like you to hang out with. Here are some thunder sled events in Wisconsin to add to your 2023 calendar.
Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs
If you want to get involved with the snowmobiling community in Wisconsin, the best resources you will find are snowmobile clubs. Every county has at least one and they work together to create and maintain trails in addition to connecting enthusiasts. For Milwaukee county, check out the Rolling Dice Riders for meat raffles, rides, and community events. Another great club is The Muskego Icetronauts, who always have something coming up.
For the last 60 years (or more depending on who you ask), Eagle River, Wisconsin has been the heart of snowmobiling in our state. With a handful of races in January and February of 2023, it should be a bucket-list destination for all snowmobile enthusiasts, even if you have to drive four hours to get there from West Allis. In addition to the winter races, the derby complex also hosts swap meets and fishing tournaments in the summer.
If your truck won’t make the 8-hour round trip to Eagle River, you can rest assured that there are other ways to get your snowmobile fix closer to home. The Wide Open Wisconsin swap meet and grass drags will be held on September 22nd through the 24th in West Bend Wisconsin in 2023.
This snow show is right here in our backyard at the County Fairgrounds! We will edit this post to show the official dates once they get posted, but as of right now it is safe to say the event will be held on October 13th and 14th, 2023. Stop by to see newly released snowmobile models, drink some cold snacks, and chew the fat!
