Closest Snowmobile Trail To Milwaukee

Milwaukee Snowmobile Destinations

Milwaukee doesn’t have any snowmobile trails, but you don’t have to go far! The closest trail to downtown Milwaukee is in Muskego, WI, about 12 miles to the southwest. Managed by the Muskego Icetronauts Snowmobile Club, this trail consists of a 35-mile horseshoe through private land and connects you to hundreds of trails to the south, including the locally famous Muskego Canal.

Starting from the corner of W College Ave and Sentry Dr in Waukesha, the Glacial Drumlin State Trail is your entrance to every trail north of Milwaukee. When all counties are open you can literally ride all the way to Upper Michigan from here if you want to and it is only about twenty miles west of Milwaukee.

Snowmobiling club Facebook pages are great resources for knowing when trails are open or closed, but the only way to know for certain is by calling the hotline before you go. Every county in the state has its own automated hotline that will tell you whether trails in that county are open or closed.
